Sammi turns 17

Sammi turned 17 on Saturday. The day started very early. Cris took her out to the Annual Fruit Shoot. She was so excited when she got home, her shot was so good that she was able to demolish a pumpkin. It was the 1st time that Cris had taken her out shooting and apparently she did really well. They had a great time on their father/daughter bonding adventure.

Pa and Nana took us all to lunch at Olive Garden to celebrate. We ate YUMMY food and then they brought her out her own little chocolate cake and sang a crazy birthday song.
Natalie and the girls came down to surprise Sammi for her birthday. They brought her some balloons. We had more chocolate cake and let her open presents. Her big present was our trip to Vegas so aside from that we got her a couple of outfits and a new CD. We all went shopping, grabbed a sandwich at Jimmy John's, and then hit the movies. We saw the sneak preview of Bolt since 007 was sold out. It was such a cute show.

On Sunday Shawn and Megan came down for dinner. After being drenched in Silly String they let her take a few shots at the pinata. Inside was a IPOD dock for her car. Sammi then went to a fireside and while there Shawn had the bright idea to decorate her car. He used Saran Wrap, window markers, streamers, and more. We had lots of balloons and confetti and such for the inside but realized once at the church that the key was at home. Without wanting all of that to go to waste, we decided to decorate her room too. It was lots of fun. I don't think that I have ever seen Shawn laugh that hard in his entire life. Sammi didn't miss a beat, she just pulled the Saran Wrap down so she could open the door and drove off. Hopefully she isn't too mad at us.
